Agency Brief — Free Edition #4

The weekly brief on AI tools for small agencies · Week of October 26, 2026

One Google launch that lets your small-business clients do some of your retainer work themselves. Three more calls are in the paid issue.

1.Gemini business hub: WATCH (your clients will DIY with it)

What changed: On October 20, 2026, Google announced new Gemini tools for small business owners: a Gemini business landing page, connections to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, and third-party connected apps including Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero. Google says the features are "beginning to roll out in the coming days globally for all Gemini app users," and that "tens of millions" of small business owners already use Gemini (Google).

Owners can save their brand style (website, brand kit, fonts, colors) once. Gemini then uses the Nano Banana 2.1 image model to generate on-brand visuals without anyone re-uploading the guidelines (Google).

Also on October 20: Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW) brought its AI products under one "Stagwell AI" brand and introduced NEW by Stagwell AI, a fully self-service offering for small and medium businesses. It covers competitive intelligence, AI-search visibility, AI video ad creation, influencer discovery, campaign management and ROI tracking, journalist databases and media outreach, and AI voice agents. Stagwell says a multimillion-dollar ad campaign on TV, CTV, social and search supports the launch. It hasn't published prices (Stagwell).

Why it matters: Small-business clients can now handle brand visuals, Google Ads questions and Business Profile updates in one Gemini chat. That covers the low end of many small retainers. Meanwhile a holding company is selling self-serve, agency-style services straight to SMBs and spending on ads to promote them. Expect clients to ask you about both.

Do this week: You don't need to buy anything. Set up the brand style for your own agency so you can show clients where it falls short. Then decide how much Google Ads access you'd let a client's Gemini have before they connect it themselves. Google says the rollout happens "in the coming days," so it may not show up in every account yet.
